AHA4541

311 Mbits/sec TPC Encoder/Decoder IC

The AHA4541 is a single-chip Turbo Product Code (TPC) Forward Error Correction (FEC) Encoder/Decoder that operates at OC-6 data rates. The device integrates both a TPC encoder and decoder and can be operated in a full-duplex mode. TPCs offer a higher performance alternative to Reed-Solomon or Reed-Solomon concatenated with Viterbi error correction methods. The AHA4541 is ideal for applications such as satellite communications, cellular backhaul, microwave radios, mobile video surveillance equipment, cable modems, broadband wireless links and wireless digital broadcast equipment.

  • Payload data rates of at least 311 Mbit/sec for code rates of 0.86 or higher
  • Built-in helical scrambling
  • Programmable code shortening supports exact block sizes
  • Code rates from 0.25 to 0.98
  • Block sizes from 256 bits to 16 kbits
  • RoHS compliant
